Snorkeling

Step off the platform into water so clear the reef looks closer than it is. Turtles graze, the coral shelves away, and lunch waits twenty metres behind you.

The idea

What snorkeling looks like

The Maldives is easiest to understand from the surface. The captain picks reefs against tide rather than schedule, so you drift with the current over coral gardens, turtle ground and cleaning stations with the tender never far behind.

  • ·Turtle and reef-shark shallows
  • ·Night snorkelling under deck lights
  • ·Guided by crew who dive these sites weekly

How it unfolds

A shape for the days

01

House reef morning

A gentle first swim to fit fins and find your rhythm.

02

Drift the channel

A tender drop up-current, a long drift over hard coral with the guide alongside.

03

Manta or turtle ground

A seasonal site chosen the same morning on local reports.

Included

What the charter carries

Typical length — 3 to 7 nights. The captain writes the route each morning against wind, tide and how the group is feeling, so nothing here is fixed.
